South Treatment Plant

Harbor Pacific Contractors replaced three of six raw sewage pumps at the South Treatment Plant for King County which has been in operation for fifty years. The new energy-efficient pumps and motors are expected to reduce the plant’s energy consumption by 1.9 million kilowatt hours per year by using variable frequency drives that can adjust the motor speeds to match sewage flow rates. Energy costs are expected to be reduced by $4 million over the next twenty years
